Becoming the First MultiVM Layer 1 Blockchain for Real-World Assets

Atop of significant governance changes and a focus on enhanced transparency, I’m excited to share with you a look into a number of improvements the team has been working on, and will continue finessing over the next few weeks and months to MANTRA Chain. All guided by the ultimate goal of creating an even better environment for builders, as well as making MANTRA the first purpose-built MultiVM layer 1 blockchain for real-world assets. They’re changes that will also better position us to meet regulatory requirements, as well as integrate with the rest of the space. Proposed by both our community, and internal team, we believe they’ll unlock even more use cases for RWAs - ones we can’t wait to see.
MANTRA Testnet is now EVM compatible
First up, we’ve made MANTRA Chain fully EVM-compatible, signalling a game-changing moment for our ecosystem
The integration (already live on our Dukong Testnet), uses the Cosmos EVM module, thereby allowing Solidity developers to deploy their dApps with all the EVM opcodes they know and love. It’s a win for developers, as well as a change for those seeking to seamlessly bring their Ethereum projects to MANTRA with minimal adjustments.
Benefits abound including low fees, high throughput, and cross-chain interoperability. With full Solidity support, and with all standard EVM opcodes and precompiles included, it will make MANTRA Chain the first purpose-built MultiVM layer 1 blockchain for real-world assets, with CosmWasm and EVM running in parallel.
When making this decision, we evaluated multiple options but opted to integrate Interchain Labs' Cosmos EVM module (Release Candidate v1.0). It’s an implementation that brings with it;
• Complete compatibility with Ethereum tooling (MetaMask, Hardhat, Truffle)
• All the modern ERC standards to MANTRA Chain including ERC-20s, ERC-721s, and ERC-3643s
• Full support for all standard EVM opcodes and precompiles
• Community-backed maintenance and security audits
Full EVM compatibility will benefit current members of MANTRA’s community as well as future ones.
Investors will be able to bridge funds from any EVM chain to MANTRA Chain, while developers will be able to deploy Solidity dApps (with zero changes required) on MANTRA Chain. Whether porting an existing Ethereum dApp or building something entirely new, this next chapter of MANTRA Chain will (we believe) aptly merge EVM compatibility with Cosmos SDK benefits.
EVM compatibility is already live on Testnet - we invite and encourage all to check it out. If you’ve feedback, let us know via Discord. For a comprehensive guide, documentation and support, please visit our developer portal.
Once testing is completed, and the community proposals pass, we’ll take EVM compatibility to MANTRA mainnet. We’ll confirm the changes on our official channels.

We are also proud to announce the alpha release of our MultiVM block explorer, which combines both EVM and CosmWasm transactions in a single explorer. The team has built this from scratch and it’s the first of its kind in the ecosystem.
In the past few months, the MANTRA team has dug deeper than I could have asked to develop and execute concrete solutions and actions. Trust comes from actions, not words. The work is not done, and there is still much to do. The above is just one part of the road ahead of us, but I do believe these steps mark a significant next step in our story.
Let’s keep building.
